Filtered mains distribution unit
3 level surge suppression; Transient VoltageSuppression Diodes, Gas Discharge Tube, 10A fast blow fuse
1 or 2 'Power' Filtered Sockets: Parallel filter components only means current supply only limited by device connectors. On the 2 and 4 way models this is a single socket can accept devices that consume up to 2000W. One the 6 way there are two sockets that can each accept 1000w devices.
1 or more 'Source' Filtered Sockets: Parallel and series filter componenets offer optimum filter characteristics. Current supply limited to 3.5A due to series components. These sockets can only accept devices that consume up to 100 watts
Each socket is individually filtered and isolated from interference and surges created by other connected equipment.

What we think
This is the first affordable power management solution we have seen that recognises that a high current device like an amplifier has different needs to a low current drawing device like a CD player. We have not seen any product before at this price level that has a dedicated socket for the amplifier.
At first it may look a bit more than similar products with the same number of sockets, but in our opinion it is in a different class and offers a much more sophisticated solution. We fully expect a future rave review from What Hi-Fi.
NOTE: Many larger plasma screens and most traditional CRT televisions draw in excess of 100 watts so it is often not possible to connect both a screen and an amplifier to this product at the same time. So if you are planning to use this product for a screen and an amplifier you need to check that only one or two devices that you have consume in excess of 100 watts. If you have two such devices you will need the 6 way hub.
